Ziongate is a new futuristic club night guided by electronic riddims from the motherland. In a world where people are overexposed to media, politics, and social pressure, Ziongate creates an alternative future.

A world where the connection of the community rises above the individual. Zion is the last place where humans are truly free.

This time Ziongate is inviting the Amenti Theater Company that will add a neo mythical and immersive experience to the night. Taking the audience on a trip through time and space - old myths are transformed or restored and new stories arise from the mind of Gil the Grid. Furthermore, we have Afro Tech pioneer Masšh EPK, captivating the audience with his rhythmic South African fusion. As well as support from local talents Wes Lee, Chocolate Swirl, BLVCK NOVA and MC Sha'Man.

Masšh EPK

V3 Mo Afrika 8 01 01
Masšh is a fashionable African electronic artist based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The unique sound that he dubs "astral", derived from "astral projection", a term used in esotericism to describe a willful out-of-body experience that assumes the existence of a soul or consciousness. His sound is influenced by dark classical music and his love for emphasis on tone and atmosphere over traditional musical structure or rhythm, all carried through African grooves. He was one of 10 participants selected for the BridgeFire Talent Accelerator Program which was held at Flame Studios by Nando's in 2021. He later got the opportunity to curate original music for MaXhosa’s SS22 fashion show, hosted in October 2021. The music is set to be released in spring 2022 through his own label, Solar Plex's.

Wes Lee

Wes Lee is the musical alter-ego of WaxFiend, one of Europe’s most sought after and respected DJs. Combining music from genres like hip-hop, danchehall, Afrobeat, house, soul, R&B and more, his unique sound and impressive career spans opening arena shows for artists inlcuding Rihanna, Young Thug, Kaytranada, SBTRKT, Kehlani & Sean Paul, alongside his residency at Encore, Holland's biggest weekly club night.

Behind the scenes, he is an active driving force behind 2 of Holland’s most respected platforms: Jamrock and Encore, alongside programming shows and nightlife events at Paradiso since 2020. Attuned to what’s next, he is currently curating a larger platform for South African electronic music in Amsterdam, with his Tribes and Ziongate events bringing some of SA’s most prolific artist’s to Amsterdam already.

Chocolate Swirl

Franny Badu and Shammah Ansah join forces together as the musical duo Chocolate Swirl. Their music is dynamic and different, spanning electronic, house, acid and techno swirled with the sounds of their motherland, providing deeper insights and dynamic perspectives of Black music.

Residents for Oroko Radio (GH), they've played at well known events throughout the Netherlands, and guests on various guest radio mixes including Operator Radio, United Identities, Batik Boy Radio, Radio Tempo Não Pára and more.
