Third Culture Club
SATURDAY AUGUST 30TH AT PARALLEL
23:59-05:00
We're pleased to announce the second edition of 'Third Culture Club' this year! A club somewhere between cultures with an emphasis on sounds from the Global South!
As our world gets more connected every minute, we live more and more in-between cultures with our identities layered and our lifestyles merged. Third Culture Club aims to combine all these aspects into a new night, a third culture, where borders evaporate and we playfully combine our identities through music. We invite DJs who mix sounds that narrate their lived experiences and identities. A Global South infused auditory experience into the morning!
For our 2nd night of the year we are excited to announce our three headed line-up with, the Iranian-Dutch Katayoun, the Lebanese-French Arabian Panther & the Egyptian Karamell. You might hear blended genres like Persian 90's Eurodance, House & Pop, Palestinian Rap, Sinai Mahraganat, French Electro, Shaabi EDM, Bedouin Drum & Bass & beyond.
Line-up
Arabian Panther
His sound ranges from warrior march anthems to club bangers, blending Arabic scales and Middle Eastern instruments to capture the essence of hafla (celebration). His DJ sets and productions embody versatility, reflecting both his support for the Palestinian cause and his Lebanese heritage. In 2019, he co-founded the collective and label Toulouse Gouffre Club with his musical family from Toulouse, which includes artists like Kendal, A Strange Wedding, Jan Loup, and Blind Delon.
Since his debut, he has released over 20 tracks on labels such as Ritmo Fatale, Dischi Autunno, Hardfist, ComicSans, AreaZ, and Soil Records. His discography includes four EPs: Heart Filled With Sand (2019), Rise of the Panther (2020), The Way of the Penitent (2021), and Death of the Panther (2024). His first full album is set to release in 2025.
Since then, he has performed on stages in over 15 countries—including Palestine, Egypt, Canada, Finland, and Morocco—and has appeared at numerous festivals and club events. Known for his dynamic back-to-back sets with Kendal, his close collaborator in the Ritmo Fatale label family, he continues to make a strong impact on the global electronic music scene.
Karamell
Katayoun
She hosts a monthly residency at Kiosk Radio in Brussels, where her show "Sonic Imaginaries" continues to explore Iran's sonic heritage by drawing connections to other musical traditions, including Latin music, jazz fusion, and funk. Her warm and dreamlike sound has taken her to numerous stages, from supporting Sevdaliza to performing at festivals, museums, and art spaces and DJing at listening events and in nightlife. One of her recent radio shows spotlighted the "Iranian Dance Wave"—a 1990s-2000s movement from LA’s Iranian diaspora—blending Italo Disco, Eurodance, trance, progressive house, and Tehrangeles pop. Shaped by Katayoun’s musical upbringing, the mixtape bridges high-energy dance sounds with cultural roots, celebrating a global sound that still resonates today.
