Manchester-based Mr. Scruff is a producer, cartoonist and one of the UK's most treasured selectors. Last summer he was awarded the so-called 'legend slot' at Dekmantel, and for good reason. Infinitely versatile and technically impressive, his sets span everything from deep soul, Afrobeat, latin and jazz to harder-edged house, new wave, techno & electronic, often all in the same night.
Joining him for this all night long session is Gayance, AKA Aïsha Vertus. Collecting vinyl from afro-Latin jazz, the Caribbean, West-Africa and electronic music from both sides of the Atlantic, her sets are a journey through Black music delivered with unforgettable energy.

With an encyclopaedic knowledge of music developed from his 4 decades DJing, Scruff cut his teeth running his monthly resident nights at Band On The Wall in Manchester for 20+ years. Insolently groovy, his productions having already conquered the biggest labels: Warp, Circus, Disorient, Blood & Fire, Cup Of Tea and of course Ninja Tune.
Gayance
Gayance takes her alias from the Haitian creole word for joyfulness. Her production are influenced by Afro-Caribbean diasporic music from North America and the UK : iconic sound dance floor sounds, with nods to the vivid and Afro-Latinx culture. She regularly steps out from behind the decks to teach DJ masterclasses (currently at DeSchool, Amsterdam) and delivers talks to empower youth and bring knowledge to the people.
