Latanya Alberto is a multidisciplinary artist, singer, songwriter, and performing artist. Having had music in her life from an early age, Latanya began her professional career as an independent artist at 19. She released her debut EP, Ruminate in 2018. ​Born and raised in Amsterdam to Surinamese and Curaçaoan parents, Latanya Alberto started writing poetry as a teenager, which became the basis for her lyrics today. Delving deeper into cultural awareness, female empowerment, social justice, and romance, Latanya takes inspiration from the wordplay of India Arie and the versatility of Miles Davis. No matter the subject, her meaningful lyrics always read like poetry. She likes to blend her musical stories with visual expressions to add to a total experience.

Her third EP, ‘The Royal Escape’ came out in 2021 and fired off many new collaborations with artists like Ta-ku, Full Crate, and JAEL. and opportunities as people started to recognize a noise and headstrong sound. One of which is a new collaboration with her band that gives opportunity to do what she likes most; performing live on stage. In 2022 she released her most recent EP called 'Home'. Latanya kicked 2021 off with her live performance on the stage of Eurosonic-Noorderslag, performed on the COLORS platform twice, performed several times with the Metropole orchestra, and performed her headline show in Paradiso, Amsterdam. Shortly after the release of 'Home' She also got to open up for John Legend perform, in the Ahoy Arena, during North Sea Jazz (2022).​Latanya also has not remained unnoticed. She is featured on fellow Dutch artist and Soulection affiliate Jael’s new album and teaming up with Jarreau Vandal for a track on Australian producer Ta-ku’s compilation ‘In Good Hands Vol.1’. In addition, she is featured in several magazines and platforms like ID and Metal magazine, Clash magazine, Equate Magazine, Fred Perry, and Okayplayer.
