WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 16TH AT PARALLEL
23:45-05:00

Throughout the day, you might experience moments that feel good. Still, people often dwell on moments that don't feel right and take good things for granted. At 'Feels Right,' we focus on the fact that many things do feel right: the people, the DJs, the venue, and especially the music.

Feels Right is a club night that isn't tied to one genre but is a gathering of multiple sounds: moving from Baile Funk to Middle Eastern club edits, and from UK Garage to African electronic rhythms, as long as it feels right. The Dutch club scene has many talents who can effortlessly deliver this combination of sounds. Feels Right is happy to put these artists in the spotlight along with exciting acts from abroad.

BIJI

From the heart of the diaspora, the duo BIJI makes music that fearlessly blends Kurdish and Western Asian traditions with contemporary influences like Hip-Hop, Afrobeat, Latin, and Dance into a sonic and visual experience that captivates audiences of all backgrounds and transcends borders.

BIJI is the atomic fusion between the minds of Robin Nazari (artist and actor) and Maceo Frost (director and producer) fueled by the Kurdish culture that has long yearned for recognition and the freedom of self-expression. Born into a Kurdish family of musicians and poets, Nazari made his acting debut in the hit Netflix crime series “Snabba Cash”, was recently featured in their 2023 drama “Clark,” and will be starring in the upcoming Netflix movie “The Beautiful Game” (also starring British legend Bill Nighy and Michael Ward of Top Boy). Frost is an award-winning film director and music producer born into a family of mavericks – hip hop, skateboard and street dance pioneers which is embedded into DNA. In 2018, he received a Gold Clio Award for a documentary about Burna Boy and his feature film collaboration with Adidas and HBO for the cuban boxing documentary “TOO BEAUTIFUL”.

CHAMOS

Chamos is a slang term for friends, a name that perfectly fits this Dutch DJ and producer collective. Even though all three have completely different backgrounds and cultures, one was born in the Iraqi part of Kurdistan and fled to the Netherlands, and the other two were already raised there; their paths crossed at some point because of one common interest: music. They soon found out that because they are different, they complement each other and pass on the music through different cultures. When it all comes together, CHAMOS comes to life.

CHAMOS' sound showcases their versatile tastes, blending house, hip-hop, and bass music with worldwide influences such as afrobeat, dancehall, baile funk, and dabke. Through their dynamic and energetic DJ sets full of interaction, they aim to connect and involve as many people as possible to make everyone feel like one of the "CHAMOS."

After spinning the decks for quite a while, the collective started releasing club edits on Soundcloud in 2018. DJs worldwide quickly supported these, and the streaming numbers skyrocketed. This led to many bookings at home and abroad.

Besides edits for the club, CHAMOS also values making original music. They released their first tracks on the UNITY Compilation of the Amsterdam-based label Studio Koto and their debut single "Dousman." This was followed in 2021 by a release with FS Green called "Donna" and the club track "Sobe" featuring Dave Nunes. After the success of "Sobe," CHAMOS released a new collaboration with Dave Nunes in 2022 called Energy (Ay Ay Ay).

In 2023, CHAMOS is attracting attention on social media. A video clip from their club night 'Feels Right' in which they tease their new edit of "I'm a Boss," is rewarded with a repost and comment from Meek Mill himself, asking who these DJs are. And it doesn't stop there. The CHAMOS edit of Nina Sky's "Move Ya Body" goes viral and is used in over half a million videos from artists, influencers, and sports clubs. On July 28, it resulted in an official remix of this legendary classic.

2024 starts off on a good note with an official remix for compatriot Benny Sings, setting a positive mood for the rest of the year.
