DESCENDANTS is the fastest growing community based Afro House experience in New York City. Their mission is to bring beautiful souls together to express and truly experience Afro House and other culturally inspired electronic music. Combining eclectic Afro-Electronic artists from around the world that express a wide range of culturally inspired house music, along with in-house projection mapping and visuals, DESCENDANTS strives to curate spiritually elevated experiences for their visitors.

DJ Lag

DJ Lag (real name Lwazi Asanda Gwala) is a South African DJ, producer, and pioneer of Gqom, a raw, bass-heavy electronic genre that emerged from Durban. Known as the "Gqom King," he helped bring the sound from underground townships to global stages, influencing artists worldwide. His music blends dark, hypnotic beats with African rhythms, shaping the future of club music. With releases on labels like Hyperdub and tours across Europe and the U.S., DJ Lag remains a key force in African electronic music.

Charisse C (UK)

NTS & No Signal resident Charisse C is a UK-based tastemaker rooted in her Zimbabwean and South African heritage. Her selections are curious, soulful and bass-heavy. With her sound, she spearheads South Africa's electronic soundscape, including, now global giants, Amapiano and Gqom. She describes herself as both a vessel and a storyteller.

Previously a Music Journalist, Charisse C's live performances and curated events are all part of an ever-evolving expression of her chosen mediums.

Mpho.Wav

Also known by his stage name Mpho.Wav, emerged from the vibrant township of Orange Farm, Johannesburg, South Africa, on December 28th, 1996. His musical odyssey commenced at the age of 14 within the sacred halls of church, where he unearthed his love for music through the rhythmic beats of drums and enchanting melodies of piano keys.

Meedy b2b Pizzi

Meedy is the founder of the Afro & Culturally Inspired Electronic Music platform/label DESCENDANTS, which is leading the U.S. in creating unique Afro House Experiences. He has played side-by-side with the likes of Caiiro, Thandi Draai, Breyth & more.

Meedy's musical foundation began at the age of 2, when his Afghan heritage drew him to the Tabla. He began music production at 13. With his experience, inspiration and newfound confidence in his sound, he is prepared to share his music with the world.
